If you can leave the school with a diploma or degree of some sort then that will vastly increase your chances of landing an apprenticeship with a good company. Keep in mind that you will not come close to the average welder salary during this time, as that is reserved for those who have put in the time, and have the required education. Once you complete the training you will officially be a certified welder and will most likely be earning in the $35,000 per year range. That’s the average welder salary for a basic welder, but if you choose to specialize in the field and opt to try out underwater welding or some other niche field, then you might just be able to greatly boost the amount that you can earn.
